A team of LeChase employees recently visited Baldwinsville Central School District to speak with students in the high school’s Drone 1 and Drone 2 classes. LeChase team members – and licensed drone pilots – JJ Richards, Ally Schutt, Chris Preston and Liam Rathbun discussed how LeChase uses drone technology for project monitoring, safety, marketing and other uses.
In addition to the classroom session, the group headed outdoors, where students had the opportunity to test-fly one of LeChase’s company drones. The students also shared examples of their own drone work, including progress photos they’ve been capturing of active construction across the district. LeChase is currently managing the district’s capital improvement program through its Central NY office.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to connect with students, offer insight into careers in construction and show the students how the skills they’re learning can be applied in real-world settings.
