Syracuse University’s National Veterans Resource Center (NVRC) at the Daniel & Gayle D’Aniello Building won best project in that category. In addition, Rochester Institute of Technology’s Global Cybersecurity institute earned the award of merit.

The awards were not the first honor for either project.

The NVRC project previously won a 2021 Build America Award of Merit from the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America and a 2020 Jeffrey J. Zogg Build New York Award from AGC of New York State.

Both projects had earned 2020 Excelsior Awards of merit from the New York chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). These went to the project architects – SHoP Architects for NVRC, and LaBella Associates for the Global Cybersecurity Institute.

Industry publication ENR New York conducts the Regional Best Projects competition each year. In 2021, judges selected more than two dozen winners in over a dozen categories. The ENR Best Projects Awards will be presented at a ceremony in New York City on November 15.
