Zoo project gets visit from young helper

Although it wasn’t an official take-your-child-to-work day, Randy Sullivan got an opportunity to see first-hand what his dad, Senior Project Manager Tom Sullivan, was working on. As it turned out, it was probably one of the most interesting construction sites for an eight-year-old to visit.

Tom is working on projects at Rochester’s Seneca Park Zoo, including a four-acre expansion of A Step Into Africa, which will feature an outdoor habitat for giraffes, zebras, ostriches and rhinos, as well as a building with day rooms for those and other animals native to the Savanna. The area is expected to open later this year.

Randy, who is the youngest of Tom’s four children, had a day off from school and decided to go and help out his dad.
