On July 8, LeChase CEO and Managing Partner Bill Goodrich was among speakers at the groundbreaking for the new Sands Family YMCA in Canandaigua. LeChase is the design-builder for the 75,000-SF facility. It will include three exercise studios, multiple gymnasiums, two pools, an indoor splash playground, a turf field, a creator’s space, a teaching kitchen, an outdoor day camp space, onsite medical services, and a full-day licensed daycare center.
“This will be a fantastic facility, and we are proud to be the design-builder,” Goodrich said, noting that LeChase has built eight other YMCAs since 2006. “YMCAs have a positive, long-lasting impact. I’ve seen it.”
The new facility, expected to open in September 2023, will replace the current YMCA at 32 N. Main Street, which has been used since 1959.
