Tower crane goes up at Durham’s Erwin Terrace

Crews recently installed a 160-foot tower crane for a project at Erwin Terrace in Durham, NC. The LeChase project team and regional safety representatives, along with the crane assembly crew, kicked off the effort with a detailed safety plan review. The team also provided some cool air, lunch and refreshments during the blistering 94-degree day.

ALL Carolina Crane & Equipment and their installation crews were all well prepared, safe and professional on a very logistically challenging site,” noted LeChase Senior Project Manager John Tomcik. “It was quite impressive.”

LeChase’s Southeast office in Durham is general contractor for the Erwin Terrace project. It will feature a 76,402-SF cast-in-place parking deck with a five-story, 156-unit wood-framed residential building above. Work began in April, with completion slated for October 2023.
