Southeast team celebrates two project milestones

By July 20, 2018October 26th, 2018Project Highlights, Southeast – Durham, NC

The week of July 16 was a busy one in the Southeast Region, with two important project milestones. First was the mobilization of the Durham Rescue Mission’s Clegg Family Student Housing project on the morning of Tuesday, July 17, as crews transferred to the site and will remain there until the completion of the project.

The Mission is a homeless shelter and addiction recovery program, supporting the Raleigh/Durham area. LeChase – selected as construction manager for the $1.5 million (all donated), 10,000+ SF project – has partnered with the Mission for the last few years at its annual community outreach events such as Back to School, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. LeChase is honored to continue building our partnership with the Durham Rescue Mission as it gives back so much to the area.

In another milestone, the Duke University Crowell Quad Renovation project team received their Certificate of Occupancy on Wednesday, July 18 – early and well in advance of students arriving back to campus. To meet the critical timeline of completing the project before fall move-in, the project team worked 24/7.

The Crowell Quad was built on Duke’s West Campus in the 1930s and currently houses about 300 students. The scope of the project included improvements to the HVAC system, fire sprinklers with addressable alarm system, upgraded electrical systems, refurbished plumbing, upgraded data/communications, upgrades to comply with ADA codes, building envelope repairs and minor interior architectural modifications. This project team will now transition to Craven Quad, another of the original residence halls on West Campus.

Congratulations to both the Durham Rescue Mission as well as the Duke Crowell Project team on achieving these important milestones!
