The Sands Family | The Lake House on Canandaigua
Opened in summer 2020, The Lake House on Canandaigua is a destination for weddings, events and dining.
Built on the site of the former Canandaigua Inn on the Lake, the 100,000-SF resort includes five distinct buildings offering world-class facilities and amenities. It also features direct access to the lake with a seawall and a boardwalk offering a paddleboard and kayak launch for guests. The project has sustainability at its core, with the entire facility heated and cooled by geothermal power, and the hotel and event spaces limiting use of plastics.
Together, the modern waterfront inn and a separate creekside hotel building provide 125 guest rooms – 70 percent with lake views and 80 percent with patios. Other amenities include an outdoor pool and hot tub, destination spa and wellness center.
The 7,850-SF timber-frame barn on the property is a a premier venue to host events from 50 to 500 people. There is also a signature restaurant and a new home for the Sand Bar – a casual spot for food and drink that was a beloved part of the earlier resort.
