Pickens County School District | D.W. Daniel High School

This project consisted of the construction of a new 227,950-SF, three-story high school near Clemson University. The school was built on the same parcel of land as the original 1950s-era D.W. Daniel High School, which remained open as the new school was being built.

The newer facility includes a cafeteria and kitchen, media center, gymnasium and locker rooms, auditorium, fine arts facility, and administration and guidance offices. The building was designed to allow for construction of additional classrooms if needed to address future growth.

The project scope also covered construction of athletic facilities and fields, including a football field that utilized an underground drainage system. Three separate retaining walls – totaling thousands of feet – support the fields.
