With over $52 million in active projects at Alfred University and SUNY Alfred State College, LeChase Construction Services is driving a new era of transformation across the Alfred Valley.
This year, LeChase is spearheading nine major projects throughout the Alfred Valley region, ranging from academic spaces and technical labs to athletic facilities and critical infrastructure upgrades. The scale and diversity of the work showcases the company’s long-standing experience and commitment to the Alfred region and its future.
For LeChase Vice President Fred Thompson, the firm’s work in Alfred is more than a job – it’s personal. As a frequent speaker on the Alfred State campus, Fred meets with students and staff in the region regularly to support career exploration and workforce development in the construction industry.
“This is more than just construction. It’s a testament to our commitment to strengthening institutions that serve the next generation,” said Thompson. “We’re proud to be part of the Alfred Valley’s growth story, across classrooms, campuses, and everything in between.
- Current LeChase projects at the region’s two major campuses touch nearly every corner of student life and academic study.
The brand new Saxon Hill Sports Complex represents a major investment in the future of Alfred University athletics. This state-of-the-art facility, which encompasses three buildings, will serve as a hub for wellness, recreation, and school pride. - At Alfred State College, the Agricultural Science Building and Heavy Equipment Diesel Expansion are modernizing key technical training programs to prepare students for careers in high-demand fields.
- A one-of-a-kind Ceramics Foundry project at Alfred University will further advance the university’s renowned program.
- A new, fully accessible entryway for Alfred University’s historic Harder Hall will ensure staff, students, and visitors of all abilities are welcomed.
LeChase is working on these projects under a wide range of delivery methods – including Construction Manager, General Contractor, Agent, and Self-Perform Contractor – demonstrating its versatility and deep bench of expertise. On each project, however, LeChase’s focus remains the same: delivering high-quality construction with a personal, community-first approach. The firm aims to not only complete each project successfully, but to strengthen the institutions that make the Alfred Valley a vibrant place to live, work, and learn.
