LeChase begins new project for Madison County

LeChase was recently awarded a Clerk of the Works role for Madison County’s new highway garage and support buildings. The structures are being built on a rural site centrally located just outside the Town of Eaton, NY. In addition to the main garage, the project includes a fueling facility, on-site fire protection pump house, salt storage building, cold storage building and site utilities. Madison County resident Jason Moore is serving as project manager for LeChase, with support from Laird Updyke, senior project manager.

“This project continues a great client relationship with Madison County that began when LeChase provided CM agency services for renovation of the County’s historic courthouse in 2016,” Laird noted. That project received the Pat Earle Award from the Preservation Association of Central New York in 2019.

LeChase and the general contractor mobilized on site in June for the new garage project. Concrete pours for the foundation wall footings at the 22,000-SF salt storage building started in mid-July. Soon, excavation will begin for the 17,000-SF cold storage building – a pole building structure consisting of laminated manufactured columns.

Excavation and foundation work for the main 57,000-SF garage will begin in August, with the pre-engineered metal building scheduled to arrive in late September. The team plans to have all buildings enclosed by winter, allowing interior work to continue towards a project completion target of May 2021.
