Bechtel recently announced completion of the Hummel Station Power Plant on the site of a former coal-fired plant in Shamokin Dam, PA. LeChase’s work for Bechtel at the facility included construction of the Turbine Building, Water Treatment Building and Demineralization Building as well as three Boiler Feed Pump Buildings. The company also renovated several spaces, including a Water Intake Building, in work performed directly for Panda Power, the facility’s owner.

A press release issued by Bechtel notes that the facility is one of the largest coal-to-natural-gas replacement projects in the U.S., and will provide power for more than one million homes. The release also includes a quote from a Panda Power Funds manager complimenting the team Bechtel assembled for the job.

Congratulations to everyone at LeChase who helped deliver this successful project, including Senior Superintendent Randy Heckman, Superintendent David Hulse, Superintendent Zac Towner, Superintendent Dan Allen, Project Safety Manager Andrew Giordonello, Project Administrator Jessicah Beckman and Accounting Administrator Amie Housel.
