The Durham office and several of its project teams were recognized at a North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL) Safety Awards Program event in Raleigh on June 1. This program recognizes private and public firms throughout the state that achieve and maintain good safety records. It is designed to stimulate interest in accident prevention and to promote safety in the workplace by providing an incentive to employers and employees helping to maintain a safe and healthful workplace.

To qualify for an annual safety award, a firm must have maintained an incident rate at least 50% below the average for its industry group, with no fatalities during the year at the specific site being honored.

  • At the Raleigh event, the following LeChase projects/sites received an award:
    • AC Hotel Chapel Hill
    • Duke Alumni Center
    • Duke Crowell Hall
    • Durham Police Headquarters
    • The Lodge at Croasdaile
