LeChase was proud to participate in the recent 2018 Durham MED Week activities, which also brought an honor for Regional Diversity Manager Denise Barnes.

At the October 2 luncheon,  Denise was named Regional Diversity Advocate of the Year, in recognition of her outreach and involvement throughout the community. City officials who presented Denise with the award included Councilman Charlie Reese; Mayor Pro Tempore Jillian Johnson; Tammie Hall, N.C. HUB Office Director; Councilwoman DeDreanna Freeman; Mayor Steve Schewel; Dr. Henry McKoy, Speaker; and County Commission Chairwoman Wendy Jacobs.

Since 1983, the U.S. President has proclaimed a national MED Week to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of minority business enterprises and to honor those corporations and institutions that support minority business development. In Durham, MED Week included a series of educational, outreach and recognition events supporting that goal.
