Durham garage project celebrates topping off

On March 4, LeChase held a topping off luncheon to celebrate placing concrete for the final level of a new seven-story parking garage in downtown Durham. When completed, the seven-level, 262,315-SF structure will add 757 parking spaces in the 300 block of Liberty Street.

LeChase’s Durham officeDurham garage topping off celebration and its protégé firm Right Build International are partnering on building the project. In addition to building the site-cast, post-tension concrete structure, work also included site demolition, grading and utilities. Crews also created retail shell space on the first floor and placed a portion of the concrete podium that will be part of a housing project during the project’s next phase.

Durham County, the client for the project, will use the parking facility for the public as well as new parking for county employees. Lots currently used by employees will then be developed as part of other upcoming county improvement projects.
