Syracuse University | National Veterans Resource Center (NVRC) at the Daniel and Gayle D’Aniello Building

A first of its kind multi-use facility, Syracuse University’s NVRC is a center for research and programs aimed at enhancing the lives of our nation’s veterans and their families. In addition to classrooms, offices and flexible meeting spaces for community use, the NVRC includes a number of unique features. A full glass curtain wall surrounds the building, with decorative fins topping the third-floor façade. An oval 750-seat auditorium features advanced audio-visual capability and unique “basketweave” wooden walls. A towering tree-like feature wall outside the auditorium arches up and across the ceiling. Extensive ramps enable visitors to move between entrances and the auditorium’s upper-level without using stairs or an elevator. The facility even offers a rooftop parade grounds. Reflecting the University’s sustainability efforts, the project was built to LEED Gold® standards, with special efforts to reduce waste and promote efficient operation.
