Cornell University | Physical Science Building

LeChase handled the general trades package for this five-story, 60,000-SF academic building. It provides research, teaching and support spaces for the University’s chemistry, biology, physics and engineering departments. The scope covered interior and exterior masonry – including walls and granite floor pavers, and facades of limestone and Llenroc. The latter – Cornell spelled backward – is a sandstone/siltstone taken from local quarries and used as a veneer on many of the newer campus buildings. LeChase’s rough and finished carpentry work on the project included door frames, hardware and blocking, trim work, and wall panels in some common areas. The completed building was certified LEED Gold
