The Best in Gingerbread Construction

Corning’s Rockwell Museum is hosting its second annual Gingerbread Invitational, and LeChase – which has worked on various renovations at the Museum – is joining in the festivities. The competition focuses on creations that depict local landmarks and architecture from the region surrounding Corning. A team of judges, which this year included LeChase Senior Project Manager Don Beckley, announced the official winners at a December 1 ceremony attended by about 200 people. Beckley admitted the judging was harder than he thought it would be, but ultimately three winners were selected: Mark Twain’s Study (shown at left), Heart of Corning (Centerway Square), and the Corning Fire Department. Now, throughout the month of December, visitors will vote to select the Community Choice Award winner, to be announced on January 5. Thanks to a LeChase sponsorship, admission to the Museum is free on Thursday nights in December from 5 to 7 p.m.
