VALUE:
$30,000,000.00

DURATION:
12 months

HIGHLIGHTS:
This project highlighted the addition of a new high bay processing facility, which included a 16,000 sq. ft. footprint with five 20-ft-high stainless steel access decks and an 18,000 sq. ft. whey storage warehouse. In addition to LeChase’s role in construction, the company was responsible for facility contracts, which totaled more than $15 million, as well as the total coordination and scheduling of the facility and process installations, which totaled more than $30 million. All materials and methods incorporated into the facility were purchased and installed with the understanding that a high performance, low maintenance facility conforming to USDA and FDA requirements was a primary goal of the customer.Exceptional construction sequencing was required to incorporate major process equipment deliveries and installations with building structural steel erection and exterior closure milestones. The sequencing was also impacted by a building site with tight space constraints and close proximity to existing cheeselant operations.Placement of stainless steel vessels weighing up to 50 tons were rigged into place utilizing multiple cranes and setting techniques. Final construction phases, including commissioning and start up were performed under strict GMP protocol.
