| LeChase’s commitment to community on global, national, regional and local level is a key element of our corporate ethics and philosophy. As constructors and managers, we feel a strong sense of responsibility to demonstrate leadership in providing projects that meet and exceed our clients’ expectations, optimize energy efficiency, provide creative use and reuse of resources and seek to protect and enhance the environment. LeChase believes businesses benefit financially by continually improving their management of energy resources, and the environment benefits from reduced levels of related pollution. We are proud to offer our construction services that may assist businesses who have committed to the goals of ENERGY STAR®. ENERGY STAR was created to help consumers easily identify products, homes, and buildings that save energy and money, and help protect the environment. As the government-backed, trusted symbol for energy efficiency, the ENERGY STAR label identifies highly efficient products and designates superior energy performance in homes and buildings.
We are also an active participant and proponent of the various New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) programs, typically acting as agent for our client, that have received grants of hundreds of thousands of dollars. We are presently working with several clients in the development of creative approaches under the NYSERDA program guidelines to electrical energy conservation that will provide excellent energy conservation in a cost effective manner.

As an active member of the United States Green Building Council, LeChase is also well–versed in the LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification process, a green-building rating system based on “credits” that can earn building Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum ratings. A key role of the construction manager in the LEED process is the ability to quickly and accurately estimate the cost of the approaches proposed by the design team for each “credit.” This allows the project team, owner, designer |
| and construction manager to assess the cost/benefit of each proposed “credit” to ensure that best value is obtained. |
Commissioning and indoor air quality managements are key measures associated with LEED Certification as well as a requirement for most NYSERDA programs. LeChase has the in-house expertise and experience in commissioning (both facility and industrial process) and indoor air quality management that allows us to provide an additional level of assurance to the client and the project team that the measures proposed for the project will be implemented as per the Owner’s and design professional’s intent.
LeChase has LEED Accredited Professionals on staff and a growing number of employees studying for their certification. We also have employees who are members of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and
Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
LeChase feels strongly that if you intend to provide a world class “green” building, the time to start the process is right at the beginning, with the design and construction of the project.
